{!DOMAIN MOUSE OPTION!} .block Description The MOUSE is an optional pointing or cursor positioning device available on all DOMAIN Computational Nodes including the DN300, DN460 and DN660. The DOMAIN MOUSE is a hand held cursor positioning device which features three user definable buttons and which can be operated on any flat surface. The DOMAIN MOUSE may be used as a highly efficient pointing device for selecting user defined pop-up menus and is also capable of providing high accuracy X/Y coordinate positioning - especially useful in CAD/CAE applications. The DOMAIN MOUSE comes fully integrated into the Apollo Interactive Display Manager Software so that the user may immediately experience a productivity gain. In addition the three user definable function buttons ensure flexibility in tailoring the DOMAIN MOUSE to a personalized user/application environment. When combined with other Apollo Workstation features such as distributed processing across a high speed local area network, integrated high resolution bit-mapped graphics, and the multiple process/display window approach, the DOMAIN MOUSE extends Apollo's philosophy of offering 'state-of-the-art' productivity tools to the technical professional community. .block Features ***SUPPORTED ON DN300,460 AND 660 COMPUTATIONAL NODES ***INTEGRATED INTO THE APOLLO INTERACTIVE DISPLAY MANAGER ***THREE USER DEFINEABLE FUNCTION BUTTONS ***USER CONTROLLABLE SCALE FACTORS ***SUPPORTED UNDER DOMAIN CORE GRAPHICS SYSTEM ***COMPACT ERGONOMIC DESIGN ***SUITABLE FOR RIGHT- OR LEFT-HANDED OPERATION ***WORKS ON ANY FLAT SURFACE ***HIGH PRECISION OUTPUT ***DURABLE CONSTRUCTION/RELIABLE OPERATION .block Benefits ***FAST/ACCURATE CURSOR POSITIONING ***EASY/COMFORTABLE OPERATION ***LOW USER FATIGUE ***ALLOWS POWERFUL USER DEFINABLE FUNCTIONS ***INCREASED USER PRODUCTIVITY .block Hardware/Software Interface The DOMAIN MOUSE plugs directly into the Apollo keyboard and therefore does not require a dedicated RS-232 port. The DOMAIN MOUSE can be used on any flat surface, eliminating the need for special pads or large work areas. The DOMAIN MOUSE is a relative device which is fully integrated into the Apollo Interactive Display Manager and which is software compatible with other Apollo supported pointing devices, the TOUCHPAD and Data Tablet. Similiar to the TOUCHPAD, the DOMAIN MOUSE allows the user to adjust cursor tracking sensitivity to what is most appropriate for a particular application or for personal preference. This sensitivity control is available to users through standard Apollo Display Manager Commands. The DOMAIN MOUSE buttons are treated as three additional keyboard function keys. Each of these three buttons produces both an up and down transition output. The user may therefore specify six individual functions or may combine a down/up transition to perform more complex operations. Finally, the tracking mechanism is a large spring loaded ball bearing which assures consistent tracking across a wide range of surfaces. The ball bearing can be easily removed for periodic cleaning that eliminates any problems associated with dust and spills. .block Specifications Shape: Wedge-like.
