I've seen several events that lead me to believe that magickal ability is something everyone is born with, and isthen "taught" out of them. Young children seem to have a natural inclination toward it. We formerly had in our working group a 3-year-old child, who was the son of two of the older members. When we were setting up the space we use for our working, we performed a rather free-form consecration on our altar. Without being coached in any way, this small boy performed a rather ornate ceremony before our surprised eyes, including a very definite incantation and a charging-breath upon the altar itself. We were all pretty stunned by this behavior, and his parents gave their word that they hadn't coached him beforehand in what to do. I doubt one *could* get a 3-year-old to memorize this sort of thing, in any case. Christ said something about becoming as a child before one can enter the Kingdom.
