From: hatcher@mtb.und.ac.za (Mr Brendon Hatcher - PG) Subject: Sacred Steps - a poem Date: Tue, 9 Nov 1993 07:23:30 GMT Greetings all. I have always been lousy at peotry, but I think this poem comes pretty close to describing what I felt. To set the scene... It was the first ritual I had ever done...sorta like an introduction to the gods and goddesses and a dedication of myself to a new spiritual path etc etc. At the end of the ritual (done in the forest under the full moon) I went walking about the forest, letting "something" guide my steps...and it felt like a "sacred walk" - hard to describe. Anyway, comments and criticism, similar experiences..all welcome. Sacred Steps Energy-air, Air-energy Swirling, tumbling, wild Body-aware, Aware-body Trembling, awake, quick The sacred Web immanent, imminent In me, of me Me in it, of it Forest of the Sacred self-aware, Self-aware Me of it and it of me 'till of "me" and "it" there was also "one" Hesitant, shaky steps A new-born buck in a new world Rythms tug at my heart Drawing me through the world Gathering strength, purpose my feet trace out a sacred path A sacred path that's right A sacred path that's Rite Earth Mother, hear my prayer Hawaan (which is also the name of a forest!) Hope you could understand and identify with this Bb Hawaan
