WienieDR.TXT Keywords: MIDI, drums, sequencer, Windows, Soundblaster, AWE32, Borland Pascal Hi, This is a beta-test-version of WienieDR. WienieDR is a Windows-program to generate drum-patterns, to play these patterns, and to save these patterns as MIDI-files. It is written in Borland Pascal. It has an easy-to-use interface, and has all the features the registered version has, except for a reminder-message at the start of the program. Although it is not necessary to have an AWE32 Soundblaster installed, this program uses some of the special features this soundcard offers, e.g. special drum-definitions, and the use of soundbank-files. Install WienieDR by using the following commands: (goto the drive you desire to install it in, and enter the following MSDOS-commands) MD WIENIEDR CD WIENIEDR PKUNZIP path:WIENIEDR (use the path WIENIEDR.ZIP is in) (Or use a Windows-package like WINZIP to INSTALL it, you only have to UNZIP the files, no further unpacking or installing is needed) Then start WINDOWS 3.1, start the file-manager, select the subdirectory WIENIEDR, and drag WIENIEDR.EXE to the Windows-group you want it to be in (or use the EXPLORER in Windows-95 to do the same) The only drawback in this non-registered version is the message you get at the start of the program, it is not crippled: this is a fully functional version. If you do have any remarks concerning the program (any errors you signal, or suggestions for improvements or enhancements of the program) please send a message to Anton Bil at the email-address abil@mail.hzeeland.nl I am thinking about setting up a special page for all the programs I have made, so if you have patterns you have made with this program, or if you have source-code concerning sound-programming in Pascal, please mail them to me, I will put them for free on my home-page, together with my own stuff. Anyone who wants to talk about sound-programming in Pascal, feel free to contact me! Thanks to Janny for being so patient, and for Geo Pertea for his source-code and suggestions. Thanks to my little daughter Wieneke for giving her name to the program. Enjoy the program! Anton Bil (Gapinge, Holland)
