SF4AMP is a free plug-in for Winamp 2.05 which plays MIDI files on SB32/AWE32/64/SBLive! sound cards. What makes it different from the Nullsoft MIDI plug-in included with Winamp is the ability to automatically load SoundFont banks (SF2 banks only, SBK format is not supported; convert your SBK's to SF2). Normally, you would have to load these banks through a control panel of some sort. Also, SF4AMP allows you to set synthesizer emulation, song title and volume for every MIDI sequence. These settings are stored in a database and loaded automatically before playback. Bass, treble and effect settings will be supported in the future release. Features: Allows Winamp to play MIDI files in a single-file and playlist modes. Supports any v2.0+ SoundFont compatible device through 'SoundFont Management System'. Supports any MIDI out device supported by Windows, directly or though the MIDI mapper. Works with Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 Maintains a database of MIDI sequences with user-defined settings for every sequence. Searches 3 location for optional SoundFont bank files: internal database directory where the MIDI file resides (the SoundFont bank must have the same file name as the MIDI file) user-specified default sf2 directory (the SoundFont bank must have the same file name as the MIDI file) Visualization through Winamp's plug-ins!
