Hi Again, This mail goes out to the users of BSX who showed interest to contribute some thoughts on the future of Regenesis. So this time a reply to all is not longer discouraged (on the contrary). I am delighted to see that a lot of people could be round up on such short notice. You guys are the best. hjtoi@jyu.fi (Heikki) worded it very eloquently like this: >Regenesis deserves a change... Just the way I feel about it. About our convention: I will not ask you to put much of your time into BSX, expressing your views will suffice. Those of you how do have the time though, are, ofcourse, more than welcome. So how about the first proposal for a time? I've been studying the 'sunclock' tool for X11 (very handy for this kinda stuff :-) and it seems that European afternoons/evenings seem to coincide with American mornings. There is appr. an 8 hour diff. I can imagine that many people can only access the net during office hours, so at which Greenwich time will USA and European office hours coincide? (if at all :-) Or can we expect the modern cyberpunk to have his/her own modem? If not, what about Friday the 19th of Febr. 17:00 MET? That's 16:00 UTC. And should be somewhere in the morning in New Amsterdam (as we call New York overhere :-) To list some issues that may deserve some attention at our convention: - Saving BSX by opening up additional sites (fresh mudlibs may have a better chance?) - How to handle the publicity... better use of netnews. - Improving the accessability (exploiting Wing's efforts) - Improving the addictive qualities - Renovating the only existing server: Regenesis. - BSX-Protocol changes - Clients with 8-bit colour support. - 3D extention Take care, Bram Stolk
