README zMud configurations files for NannyMud v1.0 (by Ahndregg) INTRODUCTION These files were configured and copied by Ahndregg of nannymud. They contain some basic configuration for playing NannyMud. The functions distributed are more of the kind to show what is possible than game solving functions. Most muds (including NannyMUD) discourage the latter. The files are made on and for zMud 5.55 and I don't promise that they will work properly on any other release of zMud. Also, these files are distributed as is and the is no support. If you have any ideas regarding more advanced functionality that would be neet to have implemented in these files, please mail me on ahndregg@nannymud (mudmail only). In short, the files contain some basic triggers that are configurable by the player, as well as some buttons to easily change apearance of Nannymud. The mapper is also configured and a small portion of nannymud main village is mapped and ready to use. USAGE (basic configuration) To use the nannymud.mud file (basic configuration) you need to do the following: MAKE A BACKUP OF CURRENT CONFIG FILES IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND. Unzip and save all files under zMud directiory ..../zMud/NannyMud/* One option is to copy the nannymud.mud file to your zMud directory and rename it to default.mud This will make all your chars first load these functions and then load their individual configurations. (Recomended) Another option is the following: Log in to mud using no config files (this nullifies old configuration). Then do: Settings Load ..../zMud/NannyMud/nannymud.mud Now the char has loaded and is using the configfile. To prevent that macros and functionality will spread between chars do the following. Settings Save As.. ..../zMud//.mud USAGE Mapper I will shortly go through the steps howto load and use the files I'm distributing. For further and deeper knowledge of the mapping functionality of zMud I recomend that you read the zMud manual. nannymud.zfg - importable configuration file. 1. Open the mapper window 2. Import settings from .zfg file (choose the ..../nannymud/nannymud.zfg) 3. Save settings As master with new name (Save in ..../zMud//.zfg Map files nannymud.zzz - master configuration file. Copy this and rename to ..../zMud//.zzz Copy the following mapfiles to ..../zMud//maps/village.map ..../zMud//maps/village_southpart.map Remember to read the documentation regarding usage of the mapper to utilize all its functionality. Take care and happy mudding. And remember no config file or mapper module in the world will increase the real mudexperience only your interaction and will to explore and learn does this (IMHO).
