My personal experience with Chaos has been centered around sigil work
although I play with other ritual, etc. as well. To me the practice of
Chaos Magick, is simply having the ability to use which ever paradigm
or world view which bests suits any situation at any time.  It is not
limited to just gnostic oriented work but to practical ends as well. 

I believe that the Phil Hine book that was spoken of earlier is "Prime
Chaos" which is a nice introduction to group work, "Liber Null &
Psychonaut" by Peter J. Carroll is the best introduction to solitary
work and Chaos Magick in general. It is available from Weiser.
